Vday is just around the corner and for many of us, the thought of finding the perfect gift, or even one that just will suffice, is more than 4 Advil can handle. Nonetheless, we want to show our loved one how much we care, cause the next Valentine’s Day isn’t for another year and let’s face it, that’s a long time for someone to be mad at you. That’s why we’ve come up with a list to help you surprise and delight the love of your life!
1) Book an experience
There are so many things you can find online that will fit your S.O.’s interests. Go on Groupon or LivingSocial and click on activities in your area. There’s everything from spa deals, driving an exotic car on a track, to even fencing classes. Pair it with something that goes with your gift such as a new aftershave to go with the spa, or a toy model of his favorite car that he may be racing. If you don’t have time, just print out the certificate, wrap it up, and call it a day. The fact that you got them something they’re interested in will make up for your lack of bow tying skills.
2) Get creative
If your person is romantic and sentimental, get your pen and paper out! Pick up some origami paper, or cut regular paper into squares, and write out 365 reasons why you love them (if that’s too much, you can go weekly with 52). Once you have that done, fold them into little hearts and put them in a jar. Your baby will love the thought you put into this gift, plus they get to have that love all year long. If you start running out of ideas just write things like “I love your smile” or “I love us”. You should be able to come up with at least 52 things…just saying.
3) Give them what they want
Ok, I’m not talking about just anything they want. Think about it, Christmas was not that long ago, and chances are, they didn’t get EVERYTHING on their list. Go back to an email list they had sent or on their Amazon wish list. It’s perfect cause they probably forgot they wanted it and you already know it’s something they fancied!
4) Cook a romantic dinner
Before you dismiss me here, I spent 35 years of my life not cooking! The key is to find recipes that don’t take long and look great. Here’s a link to broiled lobster tail that everyone I’ve done this for loves! 5) Decorate your home with love
Add photos of the two of you from your travels, special events, date nights, etc., frame them up and place them all over the house or living room. It provides a great romantic atmosphere and a keepsake at the same time. Plus, how long have you been telling yourself you wanted to add more photos to your house?
